🚀 Migration to Prowler Cloud: Preparing for Prowler legacy SaaS End-of-Life

As we reached the integrations parity in Prowler Cloud (among many other new features) we announce the end-of-life (EOL) for Prowler legacy SaaS platform. This legacy service is based on Prowler v3 and supports only AWS Cloud. Prowler SaaS will remain available in read-only mode for a limited time so you can still access historical findings. Read-only means that all scans and integrations, Amazon S3, Jira, AWS Security Hub and SAML, will be disabled. You’ll be able to view past scans, but no new data will be generated or exported.

Prowler Cloud, released in December 2024, is our next-generation platform built for greater scalability, performance, and extensibility using Prowler latest version. It delivers faster scans, richer integrations, expanded multi-cloud coverage, and new compliance frameworks, providing a stronger foundation for your cloud security operations. Below we outline how the migration from Prowler legacy SaaS to Prowler Cloud will work, what will (and won’t) move, and the steps you may need to take.

The existing Prowler legacy SaaS environment will remain available in read-only mode until , which means that scans won’t be launched anymore, so you can still reference past reports and findings. Who Will Be Migrated?

If you have an account both in Prowler legacy SaaS and Prowler Cloud, we’ll reach out as we couldn’t automatically migrate.

We’re carefully selecting which organizations and users are eligible for automatic migration:

• ✅ Customers with an active subscription
  • Subscription details can be found at https://app.prowler.pro/app/settings/billing
• Users who logged in within the last 90 days, counting from August 1st 2025

If you are currently inactive but want to continue using Prowler, you can sign up directly in Prowler Cloud. If your account is ineligible, please contact Prowler Support Team at support@prowler.com.

Once you’re account is migrated you will receive a “Reset Password” email from Prowler Cloud.

What Gets Migrated?

As part of the migration, we’ll automatically carry over:

• Organization and user accounts (meeting the criteria above)
• AWS accounts (but not previous scan data)
  • Each account uses the IAM role credential configured.
  • The external ID configured is the one configured in Prowler legacy SaaS.
  • The AWS credentials will be validated and connected if the AWS IAM role was created based on the following templates https://github.com/prowler-cloud/prowler/tree/master/permissions/templates
• Integration settings
  • Amazon S3
    • Credentials are not migrated. Therefore you need to re-configure credentials.
  • AWS Security Hub
    • No action needed by the customer.

What Is Not Migrated?

The following won’t be automatically migrated:

• Historical findings and resources. Prowler legacy SaaS will remain available in read-only mode.
• SAML SSO
  • If you use Okta, you’ll need to configure the new Prowler Cloud app from the Okta catalog. Read more about it here: https://docs.prowler.com/projects/prowler-open-source/en/latest/tutorials/prowler-app-sso/#step-3b-configure-prowler-from-app-catalog-okta.
  • If you use a different IdP, you’ll need to reconfigure SAML directly in your IdP with the new Prowler Cloud metadata. Read more about it here: https://docs.prowler.com/projects/prowler-open-source/en/latest/tutorials/prowler-app-sso/#step-3a-configure-the-identity-provider-idp-generic.
• Jira Integration
  • We’ve changed the authentication from OAuth to API tokens. Therefore you’ll need to configure the integration using the new authentication mechanism.

Key Dates

• 2025/11/01 - Sign ups are disabled in Prowler legacy SaaS
• 2025/11/01 - Prowler legacy SaaS will be transitioning to read-only mode. Eligible accounts will be migrated to Prowler Cloud.
• 2025/12/31 - Prowler legacy SaaS End-of-life.
