Open Cloud Security Is Here—And It’s Just the Beginning

This is a reposting from OpenCloudSecurity.org —

Tuesday something pretty remarkable happened: hundreds of security engineers, cloud architects, and open source builders came together for the first-ever Open Cloud Security Conference.

We started this conference with a simple idea: the best way to secure the cloud is together. Not behind closed doors or in black box tools, but in the open—through shared knowledge, open standards, and community-driven innovation.

Thanks to our speakers and attendees, that vision came to life. We saw talks on real-world incidents, open source tools, compliance automation, Kubernetes hardening, IAM pitfalls, and more. We heard from folks working inside major cloud providers and others building scrappy startups. We learned from each other.

If you missed it, don’t worry: you can watch every talk on demand here. Every session is available, so you can learn at your own pace or revisit your favorite talks.

But the conference isn’t the end. It’s the beginning.

Announcing the Open Cloud Security Community Series

Today, I’m excited to announce the Open Cloud Security Community Series—a new, ongoing initiative to keep this conversation going.

This will be a contributed series of blog posts, webinars, demos, and guides from security practitioners, researchers, and tool builders across the ecosystem. We’ll feature what you’re working on, what you’re seeing in the field, and what you’re still trying to figure out.

Because that’s what this movement is about: showing your work. Sharing your knowledge. And making cloud security something we build together—not something that’s done to us.

So if you’ve got an idea, an experience, or a tool worth sharing, we’d love to hear from you. Whether it’s a short post, a detailed write-up, or a live session—we want this series to reflect the diversity, creativity, and openness of the people working to secure the cloud every day.

Thank you again for making the first Open Cloud Security Conference such a success. The conversations we started yesterday will carry forward—and I can’t wait to see where we go next.

We’ll see you next year at our second Open Cloud Security Conference!

Let’s keep building.
