Welcoming Gabriele Columbro as a Trusted Advisor to Prowler

At Prowler, we believe the future of security is open. It’s built in public, by communities who choose transparency over obscurity and collaboration over control. That’s why we’re thrilled to welcome Gabriele Columbro as one of our trusted advisors.

Gabriele has spent his career shaping the open source movement—most notably as the founding Executive Director of the Fintech Open Source Foundation (FINOS), where he helped turn an ambitious idea into an industry-defining force. Under his leadership, FINOS grew from an early initiative into a major part of the Linux Foundation, with over 100 members including the world’s largest financial institutions and technology companies. He’s also behind the Open Source in Finance Forum (OSFF), which now gathers thousands of builders and executives each year to push the industry forward.

Today, Gabriele serves as the General Manager of Linux Foundation Europe, where he leads efforts to expand open source collaboration across the continent. His work goes far beyond infrastructure—he’s helping define the societal and geopolitical role of open technology in the age of AI.

At Prowler, we’re building toward a future where cloud security is open by default: auditable, explainable, and driven by community. Gabriele’s experience in building global developer ecosystems, leading both nonprofit and commercial open source ventures, and driving meaningful change inside Fortune 500 companies makes him an ideal guide as we scale our impact.

We’re honored to have him in our corner.
